The written label by Tom states: "This sketch for a Christmas card was made for my mother by her niece, Margaret Fox Shallcross (1909-1991) about 1929. She married John Aubrey Walker in 1935. I found the original in the late 1980s, and Ruth and I used it for our Christmas card that year. At that time Peggy Walker told me my mother had rejected it and she thought it had been destroyed. Tom."
