Carved ivory gavel with egraved metal presentation plate wrapped around the center of the head where the gavel handle attaches. The engraving on the plate reads: "To Charles La Wall, President A. Ph. A. [American Pharmacists Association] 1918-19, Presented by Philadelphia Branch, March 5, 1918".
