Frank Kozik was an American graphic artist best known for his influential role in revitalizing rock poster art in the late twentieth century. Active in Austin, Texas, and later in San Francisco, Kozik produced screenprinted posters, album art, and limited-edition prints that became closely associated with the alternative and underground music scenes. His work was widely circulated through music venues, record stores, and independent print shops.
Kozik’s practice extended beyond poster art to include album cover design, independent record production, and later, designer toys. He founded Man’s Ruin Records in the 1990s and subsequently became creative director of Kidrobot, where he designed hundreds of collectible objects. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections and has been the subject of exhibitions and publications documenting the resurgence of screenprinting as a contemporary art form.
The Future Is Stupid is presented here in two impressions from a limited edition, each numbered in pencil. The work reflects Kozik’s engagement with political imagery, mass-media iconography, and the visual language of protest graphics, all central elements of his graphic practice during this period.Create Date
