This group includes seven original studio publicity photographs (8 × 10 inches) and two contemporary review sheets (8.5 × 11 inches) produced in connection with Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), the MGM musical directed by Vincente Minnelli. The film stars Judy Garland, Margaret O’Brien, Mary Astor, Lucille Bremer, Leon Ames, Tom Drake, Marjorie Main, and Harry Davenport.
The photographs were created for studio publicity and promotion and document key characters and scenes from the film. The accompanying review sheets contain 1944 critical responses by James Agee and Manny Farber, offering contemporary perspectives on the film’s release and reception.
Meet Me in St. Louis is widely regarded as one of MGM’s most enduring musicals and a defining collaboration between Garland and Minnelli.
