Description

Peter Pan Production Drawing (Peter Pan) Production drawing no. 1D Peter Pan Walt Disney Productions 1953 Graphite pencil on 12-field, 3-peghole animation paper This production drawing presents a full-body pose of Peter Pan in mid-air and was created as part of the rough animation process for Disney’s 1953 animated feature Peter Pan. Rough animation drawings were used to establish character position, movement, and timing prior to cleanup and final animation. The drawing is marked “1D” and measures approximately 3.5 inches from head to toe. Executed in loose graphite strokes, it reflects early motion planning rather than finalized line work. Physical characteristics—including pinholes, creasing along the right edge, paperclip indentations at the upper left, and minor tears—indicate active use during production. The film was the final Disney animated feature on which all of Walt Disney’s “Nine Old Men” worked together as directing animators, with Milt Kahl supervising the animation of Peter Pan. Condition: Good to Very Good; handling and edge wear, creasing, small tears, pinholes, and light production markings consistent with studio use.
