Picture Jasper - OvalDescription
Picture jasper is a trade name applied to patterned varieties of jasper whose natural markings resemble landscapes or other pictorial forms. Jasper consists predominantly of microcrystalline quartz and commonly contains iron oxides, clay minerals, and other impurities responsible for its colors and patterns. It has a Mohs hardness of approximately 6½–7. This specimen has been cut and polished into an oval form.
