Name/Title
Conch Pearl PairDescription
Conch pearls are calcareous concretions produced by the queen conch (Aliger gigas, formerly Strombus gigas) and related marine gastropods. Unlike conventional nacreous pearls produced by bivalve mollusks, conch pearls consist primarily of calcium carbonate arranged in a distinctive non-nacreous microstructure. Their coloration ranges from white and cream to yellow, orange, and pink. This record contains a matched pair of polished pink conch pearls.Made/Created
