Description

Untitled (Wizard of Oz Composition) Date unknown Watercolor on paper This work presents a detailed illustrative composition incorporating characters from The Wizard of Oz, including Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Wicked Witch. Through the arrangement of figures, landscape elements, and negative space, the artist constructs a larger silhouette of Dorothy carrying a basket and walking along the Yellow Brick Road, which runs centrally through the image. Executed in watercolor, the work emphasizes layered color, contour, and compositional integration across the full surface. The piece was purchased from an exhibition in Binghamton, New York.
