Description

A doctor's buggy built by the Forbes carriage manufacturing company in New Bedford, c. 1880s. The Forbes were involved in all aspects of carriage manufacturing in New Bedford from the 1840s into the 20th century. James R. Forbes managed a factory at 33-35 Elm St. in 1880s, where this buggy may have been built.
