Mrs. James L. Hammond,
Mattapoisett Mass.
Dear Madam:
I had quite a long search in the Society loan record, among the many hundred entries, before I found the Cushing item, and on the yellow slip enclosed is transcribed all the story that we have.
It would appear that the magazine article, or the newspaper publication, was never sent to us, for it would have been noted on the margin of the entry, or caught on with paste as a matter of interest. There was several such instances I find.
It is with real regret that I have to write “that’s all.” Should you ever get the story, we would be glad to annex it in the records.
Yours very truly,
Char. [?]. [?]
