Wooden mortar and pestle set with A and B. A: The mortar is a round-bottomed receptacle with thick circular sides, the bottom worn down from use. B: The pestle has a thicker worn down end used for pounding and a thinner end for holding. Attributed by donor to Dr. David Cannon of 40 Water Street
