Troubles no Trouble by Jim Carr (photos by David Crowell) Old Rochester Regional in Mattapoisett has had its “Troubles” on the gridiron the past few years but you can’t really blame her for the team’s lack of success. That’s right, her. Troubles is the school’s pedigreed bulldog mascot and she’s been a faithful spectator at all home games even before she could walk. She’s also done more than her share to help the cause. She contributed a litter of six puppies. Four were sold and the proceeds used to set up a scholarship fund. The runt of the group was given to Winfield Jenny of 14 Church St., Mattapoisett, the man who has cared for Troubles from the day she arrived. She’s unique, too. Troubles is the only four-legged mascot at Greater New Bedford schools.
