Description

Experience of a Nantucket man, the sole survivor of a crew of the whaleship "Oeno" who lived for nine years among the cannibals of the South Pacific. This was compiled from the log book of William S. Carey whose "log" tells of the massacre of the crew and his adoption by the chief of the tribe, the customs of the natives and his escape home.
