Scope and Content

Plan of land situated in Mattapoisett, Mass. Surveyed for Harriet M. Hammond. Scale 1"=3-', May 17, 1943. Samuel Corse, Surveyor, Rochester, Mass. Three copies, two noted revised July 1, 1946. Description of plan (d): Beginning at a stone bound at the northwesterly corner of land of the grantee and the northeasterly corner of land to be described; thence south 2° 12' 30" easty by land of the grantee and 59.32 feet to a tack in teh fence; thence south 89° 15' 20" west by other land of the grantor 30.81 feet to a stake; thence south 0° 44' 40" easty by the last named land 1.00 foot to a drill hole; thence south 89° 15' 20" west by land formerly of the grantor 21.03 feet to a stake; thence north 0° 12' 30" west by land now or formerly of G. Bartlett Brownell 68.16 feet to a tack in a board fence; thence south 81° 06' east by land now or formerly of A. F. and J. R. Stoessel 50.29 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 11.88 square rods, more or less. Also, letter from solicitor (e): Dated December 22, 1944. Mrs. James Hammond, Water Street, Mattapoisett, Mass. Dear Mrs. Hammond. Mr. Corse has brought in a description and plan of the property in Mattapoisett which you are selling, and from this material we have prepared a deed which is ready for signature, excepting for the name of the grantee, which we do not know. Please let us know the name or names of the person or persons purchasing the property and how they wish to have it held. Mr. Corse has also brought in his bill which I enclose herewith. It seems to me to be very reasonable, considering the fact that a survey had to be made before the plan and description could be prepared. We are now ready ot have you execute the deed at any time.
