Purrington, who made figure heads for whaleships in the Old Days, still does wood carving which is in demand - Well known Mattapoisett man will be 89 tomorrow. Images include hand-carved doll house set, the "Purrington Birthday Club" with Purringtons, Cannons and a Cole and Henry J. Purrington "With the natural shaped cane whie he cut at Rock Bridgte about sixty years ago when the railroad was built". Three copies.
