Scope and Content

Documents of the events of July 29th, 1914. These documents include a typewritten account of the day by Mrs. Hamlin, a souvenier brochure of the official opening, a newspaper account of the canal 50 years later entitiled "The Cape Cod Canal at 50 Years and a Look at the Way It Used to Be," the program booklet of The Pageant of Cape Cod which was presented on the banks of the canal at Bourne, and finally a booklet of the history of building a canal by J. W. Miller.
