Three photos glued onto paper illustrating the doll collection of Mrs.Hamlin on the veranda of her Mattapoisett home, a bronze fountain presented to Mrs Hamlin by the Emperor of Japan in 1909,and a picture of Mrs Hamlin tending flowers. A note written by Mrs Hamlin on the paper states "This fountain presented by the Emperor of Japan in 1909 had returned to Japan in the shape of -------------."
A second copy of the photo of the dolls on the veranda with a note from Mrs. Hamlin stating "This collection and the doll house were given to the Albany Institute in November,1941."
A second copy of the photo of Mrs. Hamlin tending flowers and the photo of the fountain includes the following quote " Bronze fountain given by the Emperor of Japan in 1909 through his ambassador Takahina. It was given for scrap in November,1942."
Last an article in New Bedford Standard Times, November 29, 1942, describing the fountain's return to the scrap drive.Collection
