The letter was written to Thomas Penn Hammond and verse 10 refers to his son, Charles B. (1839-1907) at sea. Verse 11 refers to two spinster sisters of Thomas Penn Hammond, Eliza (or Elizabeth) and Drusilla. The two children in Mass. (verse 16) were Mrs. Sophia Hudson and Joshua B. Hammond.Collection
