Bag enclosed with letter from Benjamin Hammond (b.1818 d. 1903) then (1867) living in Turner, Maine. Verse six refers to his first wife who died in 1856. The letter was written to Thomas Penn Hammond and verse 10 refers to his son, Charles B. (1839-1907) at sea. Verse 11 refers to two spinster sisters of Thomas Penn Hammond, Eliza (or Elizabeth) and Drusilla. The two children in Mass. (verse 16) were Mrs. Sophia Hudson and Joshua B. Hammond.
