Small wall plaque presented "To Abraham Skidmore in recognition of outstanding interest in the children of Mattapoisett From Center School and Police Department 1952"

Context

Skidemore was a prominent town citizen in the first half of the 20th century, founding the Halloween Parade and owning a barber shop downtown for many decades. He was one of the only African Americans living in Mattapoisett at that time.
