Description

This ornate brass candelabrum from India forms part of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s notable ensemble of candle furniture. One of six Indian brass examples acquired prior to the hotel’s opening, it is the sole antique in the group; the remaining five are later copies modeled on this original. Distinguished by its age, material, and hand-finished details, this candelabrum anchors the set as the historical prototype, offering a tangible link between contemporary décor and the longer tradition of Indian brass craftsmanship. This treasured piece has been in the Mauna Kea's collection since 1965, when Laurance Rockefeller developed the hotel, and was very recently restored.
