Description
Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and olive, red, and blue wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Top and bottom edges are hemmed. Sides have self-fringe and bottom edge has fringe applied. Central motif consists of an octagonal center medallion. Within the medallion is a curvilinear design with plumes in the center and flowers and scrolls as a border. The medallion is surrounded by an octagonal tile block design with cornucopia and oak leaves on the corners. The borders have a column design in the center with stylized floral motif on either side. The border is framed with a zigzag edging.
