Description

Reproduction red and natural figured doubleweave coverlet with border on three sides. Seamless. Reproduces a coverlet pattern wove by Jesse Hart in 1851 in Wilmington, Union Twp., Clinton Co., Ohio. Inscribed is "If good we plant not, vice will fill the place and rankest weeds the richest soils deface," based on a quote of Plutarch: "The richest soil, if uncultivated, produces the rankest weeds."
