Description

Blue and navy figured double weave coverlet with border on four sides and self-fringe along bottom. Two joined panels. Woven for Hetty Oakley around May 14, 1834. Hetty Oakley, of Bergen Co, New Jersey, was born Hetty Van Buskirk on April 2, 1799 and died April 7, 1881. She married Fanning T. Oakley (1797-1877). They owned the Van Buskirk-Oakley House in Oradell, Bergen Co., New Jersey (Bergen County Historical Society Marker Number 99).
