Description

Geometric overshot coverlet that combines a table motif with 9 chariot-wheels. It has wide straight-drawn borders on the sides and bottom. This coverlet was woven in two panels, which are joined by a center seam. It has remnants of fringe on the sides and bottom. The overshot (floatwork) weave structure combines undyed cotton plainweave ground cloth with dark blue wool pattern weft. The pattern has four blocks and requires a 4-shaft loom.
