Description

Figured coverlet; blue cotton and red, and olive wool, double cloth. Hemmed top and bottom, self-fringe on sides and applied fringe on bottom hem. Central motif is an octagonal center medallion. In the center of the medallion is a large floral motif surrounded smaller floral motifs. This is framed by a chain of leaves. The ground both inside and outside of the octagonal frame is a diamond pattern. Borders are on all sides and contain scrolling plumes. At each corner of the border, a vase of flowers and plumes punctures the field, creating curved corners. The border is trimmed on the inside with a rope-like edging.
