Name/Title
Ohio coverlet by William Lunn (attr), 1840, doubleweaveEntry/Object ID
2017.2.014Description
Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue and brown wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Selvedges on either side. Hemmed top, fringed bottom. Central motif is a densely clustered design with flower-filled urns, double headed eagles, and soldiers with drawn swords on rearing horses. The borders are defined by the brown wool while the center field is blue and natural. The design; however, is a continuation of the center field and therefore not technically a border.Collection
