Description

Figured coverlet; blue cotton and red wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Center seam joins two panels. Top is hemmed, bottom and sides are fringed. Central motif consists of medallions of four roses separated by smaller floral motifs. Borders on sides and bottom contain pairs of birds separated by a tree, facing towards a rose bush.
