This figured & fancy coverlet was woven by Henry Oberly in Womelsdorf, Berks County, Pennsylvania for L. Ahreks. The two cornerblocks read "Manufactured by Henry Oberly Womelsdorf Penn. L. Ahreks" with a turkey and rooster logo. The coverlet was woven in two panels, which are joined by a center seam. It has a centerfield pattern of large cabbage roses with rosebuds; the pattern repeats horizontally twice. The coverlet has wide borders of tulips and fronds on the sides and ferns and roses on the bottom. The coverlet has a red wool pattern on deep blue cotton ground with self-fringe on the sides and applied fringe on the bottom. The tied Beiderwand weave structure uses blue cotton tie-down threads in a 2:1 warp ratio.Collection
