Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Selvedges on either side, hemmed top and bottom. The central motif consists of medallions composed of four lilies surrounding a starburst design. Separating the rows of lily medallions is another starburst motif, these are surrounded by a circle of small stars. Borders on three sides show a spread eagle with a shield on its breast. Over the wings of the eagle are two birds. A stylized tree separates the two eagles which are facing one another and a weeping willow tree separates the pair of eagles. Secondary borders have a diamond design.Collection
