Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and red, green, and brown wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Hemmed top, fringed sides and bottom. Central motif consists of four rose medallions encircled by a wreath of acorns and oak leaves. Secondary motifs include elliptical shapes and floral motifs. Side borders depict a large domed building separated by trees. The bottom border contains urns with birds and trees on either side. Larger trees separate the repeated design. Corner blocks on the bottom corners appear to depict Andrew Jackson on a rearing horse.
