Description

This figured & fancy coverlet has a logo of four large sunflowers in the two cornerblocks, with no textual inscription. The coverlet was woven in two panels, which are joined by a center seam. Its centerfield pattern has a tile layout with sawtooth leaf medallions; the pattern repeats horizontally three times. It has a wide double (mirrored) grapevine border on the sides and a wide double floral border on the bottom. The coverlet has dark blue wool pattern weft on undyed cotton ground with self-fringe on the sides and bottom. The tied Beiderwand weave structure uses a 2:1 warp ratio.
