Description

This figured & fancy coverlet was manufactured by William Nuy in Myerstown, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. The bottom border is inscribed "Made by W. M. Nuy Myerstown Lebanon Co. PA." The coverlet was woven full-width and has no center seam. It has a center medallion pattern with a large floral wreath with a checkered background. It has a floral border on all four sides. The coverlet has a red wool pattern on undyed cotton ground with self-fringe on the sides and applied fringe on the bottom. The tied Beiderwand weave structure uses light blue cotton tie-down threads in a 3:1 warp ratio.
