Geometric starwork coverlet made by an unidentified weaver. The date and location of manufacture are unknown, but the style is characteristic of Pennsylvania German weavers.
This coverlet was woven in two panels, which are joined by a center seam. It has self-fringe on the sides and bottom. The starwork (tied overshot) weave structure combines an undyed cotton plainweave ground cloth with dark blue, red, and green wool pattern weft. The pattern has many blocks and may be factory-made.Context
