This geometric coverlet was woven in two panels, which are joined by a center seam. It has borders and applied fringe around the sides and bottom. It features a variant of the "Whig Rose" pattern, treadled star fashion. The overshot (floatwork) weave structure combines undyed cotton ground cloth with navy and red wool pattern weft. The pattern has four blocks and requires a 4-shaft loom.Context
