Description

Figured and fancy doubleweave coverlet with borders on 3 sides and no fringe. Two panels joined by a center seam. Navy wool with undyed cotton. Lilies of France centerfield pattern; eagle and willow tree border on sides and bottom. Woven for Rebecca Johnson in 1837 and attributed to S. Humphreys.
