Description

Figured and fancy doubleweave coverlet with borders on 3 sides and no fringe. Two panels joined by a center seam. Navy wool with undyed cotton. Fancy stars and diamonds centerfield pattern; building and tree border on sides and bottom. Eagle trademark, attributed to D. Shamp; woven for Sarah Smith in 1849.
