Description

Figured and fancy tied beiderwand coverlet with borders on 3 sides and no fringe. Two panels joined by a center seam. Navy wool with undyed cotton. Double rose centerfield pattern; eagle and willow tree border on sides and bottom. Woven by Josiah Sherman for E.A. Swain in 1838.
