Description

Figured and fancy doubleweave coverlet with borders on 4 sides and no fringe. Two panels joined by a center seam. Navy wool with undyed cotton. Medallion centerfield pattern; leafy border on sides and bottom. Attributed to Asahel Amora Phelps, who wove with this trademark from 1835-1854.
