LETTER FROM WILLIAM MAXWELL, MINISTER OF DERVOCK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH REGARDING ITEMS FROM MCKINLEY ANCESTRAL HOME. 7/15/25. WOOD FRAME. 9" X 10"
The text reads as follows:
"Manse of Dervock, Co. Antrim, North Ireland, 15th July, 1825
The Rev. John R. Kenny, L/L/D. called me today in reference to the location of the old McKinley farm, in which the ancestors of the late President McKinley resided prior to their migration to the United States of America. I was able to put him in touch with the present owner of the place Mr. Carson. He and Mr. Carson have called with me again and have showed me a number of articles which were in use in the old McKinley house - a brick from the fireplace used by the McKinley family, a peat spade, a shovel sickle, and hedge knife, which are upwards of one hundred years old and were doubtless in use at the time the family of President McKinley left this country.
