The item is a commemorative plate of William McKinley and Garrett Hobart. The item features sepia toned portraits of McKinley and Hobart with their signatures underneath. The plate has gold trim around the scalloped edges. The item features a maker's stamp on the back of the plate for John Maddock & Sons Ltd. Royal Vitreous England. The plate was designed by china decorator Jesse Dean in Trenton, N.J.
