The holder is shaped like an iron beetle. the information card reads as follows: "1896 Campaign Item The iron postage stamp holder, a campaign item of the 1896 Presidential campaign of William McKinley vs. William J. Bryan. The back of this beetle is hinged and raised toward the head for stamps. The names-Mckinley and Hobart are stamped inside. Very rare beetle item of above campaign."
