Description

An 1898 military commission which promoted Jeremiah Z. Dare to Captain, and made him Assistant Quartermaster of Volunteers. On the top is a drawing of an eagle, and the bottom is a drawing of military regalia. It is signed by President McKinley and Secretary of War Russell A. Alger January 3, 1899.
