Collection of fifteen ribbons from the 1896 Presidential campaign. The ribbons are displayed in a carved golden brown frame (RA).
RI-48: "McKinley and Protection" in black ink, image of McKinley in center, green silk, fringed
RI-49: "The 14th Ward Republican Club 500 Strong to Canton, October 17th, 1896" in black ink, image of McKinley in center, gold silk
RI-50: "McKinley and Protection" in black ink, image of McKinley in center, gold silk, fringed
RI-51: "Union Veterans' Patriotic League Cleveland, O 1896." in black ink on aqua silk
RI-52: "The McKinley Club East Liverpool, Ohio. Protection." in black ink on white cotton, fringed
RI-53: "The Union Veterans of Canton, Ohio to the Confederate Veterans of Virginia. Canton, Ohio October 9th, 1896." in black ink on yellow silk, fringed. (from the Reunion of the Union and Confederate troops held that day in Canton, where McKinley spoke at his home)
RI-54: "September 12, 1896 McKinley Day! Akron, Ohio." in black ink on grey cotton, inverted V bottom edge
RI-55: "Businessmen's Club Reading, PA" in gold ink on pink silk. There is a small United states flag gathered into the shape of a bowtie on top,and the center image of McKinley standing atop a platform with the words "Our Standard" in gold is on a grey background and attached to the pink ribbon. This ribbon is fringed.
RI-56: "Elkhart County Delegation McKinley, Sound Money and Protection" in black ink on gold silk.
RI-57: "Indiana." in silver ink on red silk. Horizontal.
RI-58: "Honest Dollar Marching Club Canton, Ohio" in black ink on grey silk ribbon. Images of McKinley and Hobart in ovals have the words "Protection" and "Sound Money" above and below them. Images are in black ink. Fringed.
RI-59: "A Comrade's Reception to Maj. Wm. McKinley by Stark County Veterans. September 15, 1896" in black ink on gold silk.
