This is a cream silk satin pin-back ribbon mourning badge with the inscription printed in black (now faded and dirty) that reads "New York Letter Carriers Association, L. A. 2008. We Mourn Our Loss." These words are framed by a 1/4 inch black border. A gold metallic galloon adorns the top edge and a gold metallic galloon with fringe at the bottom; paper label with manufacturer's name applied to top edge of ribbon reverse. The back is plain, with a metal pin for attachment, and underneath the pin is a paper label containing the manufacturer's name, "Merritt & Ryan. Badge Manufact'rs, 623 8th Avenue, Bet., 40th & 41st Sts."Collection
