A small photograph of the sarcophagi of President William McKinley and his wife, Ida Saxton McKinley, which are situated atop an altar in the rotunda of the McKinley National Memorial located in Canton, Ohio. When Mrs. McKinley died in 1907, she was laid to rest next to her husband, William. The 2 sarcophagi rest side by side, with their names inscribed on the front, while their two daughters rest in the walls behind.
The monument was built as a tribute to the fallen President. Construction of the monument began in June 1905 and was completed in September 1907.
Printed on the photograph is a description that reads "THE McKINLEY SARCOPHAGI."
