This is a 1 1/4 in. diameter medal made of bronze (possibly copper) with a portrait of McKinley, facing left, etched into the center. A circular border surrounds it with the words "William McKinley" inscribed below the portrait. Below the name is the Manufacturer's name, "The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J." There is hole in the top which has a single chain link though it. The edges are smooth.
On the reverse side is a circular wreath of leaves with a bow at the bottom center.
There is some lettering beneath, which reads "W & H Co. Newark N.J." There is also some kind of residue on the leaves, which may have been glue to addher it to something.Collection
