Two gold coins, 2013.
The top coin has an engraved image of William McKinley surrounded by the words "William McKinley In God We Trust 25th President 1897-1901."
The bottom coin shows the back of the coin, with an engraved image of the Statue of Liberty extending from the lower right corner to the upper left corner. The words "United States of America" are along the left edge of the coin. "$1" is engraved below the torch.
To the right of the coins is an image of William McKinley, with the caption "Philadelphia First Day of Montage - December 11, 2012 Denver First Day of Mintage October 3, 2012 First Day of Issue- March 19, 2013"
There are two facsimile postmarks to the right of McKinley's image. The first one reads "Canton Station, Canton, Ohio MAR 19 2013 44708." The second post mark reads "William McKinley In God We Trust 25th President 1897-1901" with the same image of McKinley as is on the coin in the center of the post mark.
Under all of this in brown bold lettering is "United States Mint Official American Presidenct $1 Coin Cover Series."
The back of the coins and envelope show the following. Written vertically to the left of the top coin is "Philadelphia Mint" indicating that the top coin was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. Written vertically to the left of the bottom coin is "Denver Mint" indicating that the coin was minted at the Denver Mint. To the right is the following:
"William McKinley: 25th President of the United States of America As the 25th U.S. President (1897-1901), William McKinley successfully led the Spanish-American War that expanded America's presence overseas and increased its stature as a world power/ He was killed by an anarchist several months into his second term. The William McKinley $1 Coin Cover was issued by the United States Mint. Sculptor-engraver Phebe Hemphill, shows McKinley's distinctive portrait. The reverse, executed by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Don Everhart, depicts the Statue of Liberty. the coin edge is inscribed with the mint mark, 2013, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
