Description

Part of the Presidents from Ohio series. ""Since the Gay Fad Studios were located in Lancaster, OH from 1945-1962, it's not surprising that Gay Fad produced numerous Ohio commemorative pieces, the most famous being the "Presidents from Ohio" tumbler set that honors the eight U.S. Presidents born in Ohio, the "Cradle of Presidents." The front of each President's frosted tumbler features his portrait, a facsimile of his signature, and his year(s) in office with "Presidents From Ohio" above, all in brown, while the back shows his birthplace in brown with colorful accents. William McKinley - 1897-1901 (America's 25th president; actual name was William McKinley, Jr.; won the 1896 election against William Jennings Bryan; won reelection in 1900, again defeating William Jennings Bryan, but was assassinated in 1901 and succeeded by his Vice President Theodore Roosevelt.) Tumbler stands 5-1/8" tall with a diameter of 2-3/4" at the rolled rim and not quite 2-3/8" at the base. All of the bottoms are unmarked except for the William McKinley tumbler that contains a C in a circle, sort of like a copyright mark."
