Carved plaque with stand. The front is as follows. the top has a scalloped edge with carvings and "In God We Trust" in the center. The middle frame is highly carved and reads "Long Live President McKinley. And the U.S. of America and Her E. and W.I. Possn." The center has a carving of an eagle next to a cannon, and atop a memroial stone marked with the words "The Brave" and "American Eagle." The cannon is blasting a crown on the right of the carving. The crown sits atop a memorial stone marked with the words "The Spanish Crown." The inscription on a banner woven over the top of the eagle and crown reads: "A heavy shot in the crown of Spain her pride is broken her boasting power is crushed."
The back of the plaque has a stand attached. The back is ornately carved. The words "The Sun Rising it Shines and Gives Light to the Just and the Wise." The top half is carved as follows. The center inscription reads "Invented and Carved by J.M.A. Garcia. Senr. St. Thos. D.W.I. Jodegade No. 6." Around this the inscription reads Dedicated to the President of the U.S." Between this and the "Sun Rising" inscription, the message is dated February IX, MDCCCXCIX. Beneath all of this is a centered inscription that reads "Dedicated to the President, from the Heart of a Poor Hum Native of the D.W.I." The edging contains the words "Planed on The 6.7/98."Collection
