Description

An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXVI No. 2230. It was copyrighted by the Arkell Publishing Company on 110 Fifth Avenue and published in New York on June 9, 1898. The front cover is an illustration of Uncle Sam with a magnifying glass looking at the globe with the title, "UNCLE SAM-'Guess I'll keep' em!'" The caption at top reads "Admiral Sampson's terrific bombardment of San Juan, Illustrated by our artist on the spot. See our photographic four-page supplement of the New York Volunteers at Camp Black." The illustration was done by F.N. Blue.
